Yunnan-Taiwan painting exhibit opens
The 8th Yunnan-Taiwan Painting Exhibition unveiled in Kunming, capital of Yunnan province, on June 18.
Themed around the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), it aims to shed a new light upon the cross-Straits cultural exchanges.
Held by the Taiwan Affairs Office of Yunnan, the exhibition is undertaken by Yunnan Cross-Strait Exchange Base and Kunming Museum and co-organized by Yunnan Arts University and Yunnan Contemporary Heavy Color Arts Institute.
With more than 300 pieces of art presented by 58 different artists from both Yunnan and Taiwan, the exhibition synchronizes at three separate venues in Kunming until June 29.
Various forms of art pieces have been exhibited this time, from heavy color drawing to woodblock print, from calligraphy to traditional Chinese painting. Many of them embody the ethnic elements of Yunnan.
"It is a great opportunity for me to communicate with my peers in Yunnan, and we should enjoy this fruit of cultural exchange," says a Taiwan artist.
