1,162 tons of Yunnan green food sent to Hubei

A total of 1,162 tons of Yunnan fruits and vegetables have been transported to central China’s Hubei province in succession from February 12 to 20.

Donated by folks across Yunnan localities, the quality produces aim to help in the on-going fight against the epidemic of COVID-19.

210 tons of vegetables donated by people in Chuxiong prefecture started their journey this afternoon, with the destination being Xianning City in southeast Hubei.

Companies in Chuxiong’s Yuanmou County also sent to Xianning 7 trucks loaded with 218 tons of fruits and vegetables on February 19.

Nujiang prefecture gave away 162 tons of organic produces, including tomatoes, Amomum tsao-ko, potatoes, Chinese yam and pumpkins. 

On February 20, 17 trucks carrying 380 tons of fresh broccoli, cabbage, lettuce, radish, and others began heading for Hubei from south Yunnan’s Tonghai County.

The day before, 165 tons of Honghe specialties donated by more than 20 companies in the prefecture was shipped to Xianning by a local logistics firm.

Villagers in Shilin County in central Yunnan presented 40 tons of fresh radishes to Wuhan citizens on February 19.

A Xishuangbanna biotech company donated 11,797 shares of honey to medical workers in Wuhan on February 18, with a total value of 4 million yuan.

453 people in Dali’s Yongping contributed 18.4 tons of dried walnuts, together with 50,840 yuan on February 15.
