Yunnan foreign trade down 6.3 pct in Q1

The foreign trade of Yunnan province fell by 6.3 percent to 46.65 billion yuan (about 6.58 billion U.S. dollars) in the first quarter (Q1) this year, local authorities said.

Yunnan's exports in Q1 reached 17.6 billion yuan, down 16.7 percent year on year, while the imports totaled 29.05 billion yuan, up 1.4 percent, according to the Customs of Kunming, the provincial capital.

Produces export of Yunnan saw an increase of 14.3 percent to reach 6.66 billion yuan, accounting for 37.8% of the provincial export. 

Ant the trade volume between the border province and its partners along the Belt and Road mounted to 34.66 billion yuan, up by 3.8 percent year on year.
