Water lilies in S. Yunnan form leave boats for tourists

In mid-summer, the amazingly beautiful lotuses and water lilies are in full bloom at the tropical botanical garden in south Yunnan’s Xishuangbanna prefecture, and a lotus-viewing festival is going on. 

The giant royal water lily, or king lotus, is the most eye-catching plant. Floating on the water, the giant water lily leaves can function as “small boats” that each carry a maximum weight of 60kg. 

The festival also features family fun games, arts and others, and it will last till October 7.
