Online pictures taken on August 25 show merchants have live streamings to sell jade and jewelry in west Yunnan’s Ruili, a border town near Myanmar.

As a major jadeite distribution centers in China, the border town Ruili is known as the "oriental jewelry city", whose economic performance is being boosted by live-streaming sales at night these days.

Ruili is home to 10 live-streaming bases and 15 live broadcast platforms. Now around 40,000 of the 70,000 plus jewelry dealers in the town are doing live-streaming sales. From January to May 2020, their live-broadcast sales added up to 3.66 billion yuan.
