Flying up in the sky is the dream of many people. For Liu Dongsheng, a youngster from Honghe Prefecture in SW China’s Yunnan Province, the dream has come true.

Starting from Nov. 2018, Liu has tried to make wearable flying suit, while spending over RMB 700,000 ($105,000).

After countless failures, he finally made it in July, 2019 when the self-made flying suit, with 600 horsepower, brought him off the ground.

At the very beginning, he could only fly 3 seconds, but now he can fly about 5 minutes and control the speed, height and direction.

The flying suit consists of five mini jet engines. Theoretically, its maximum flying altitude is 200 meters (660 feet) and the speed can reach as fast as 130km/h.

According to Liu, the equipment is still in the early stage. He will make more efforts to improve the duration of flight and cruising distance.
