14-year-old Chinese boy measures 2.21 meters tall
Being 2.21 meters tall (7.2 feet) at the age of 14 makes Xiaoyu, a student in Leshan City, China’s Sichuan Province, a local ‘celebrity’. Many netizens banter with Xiaoyu and said they hope his height could be ‘shared’ with them.
According to Xiaoyu, he was 1.5 meters tall at the age of 3 and was recognized as a pupil when he entered kindergarten. Xiaoyu’s height growth is mainly attributed to his parents. Both of them are over 1.9 meters tall.
For him, his height is an obvious advantage when he is on duty in his class as he can clean the places others could not reach. But he also faces inconveniences, such as sitting in a car or entering a room with a lower ceiling. And he was never given a half-price discount when he was a kid.
Many netizens said Xiaoyu has advantages in playing basketball. However, he said he wants to be an e-sport player in the future.
Xiaoyu has applied to be the world's current tallest male teenager with Guinness World Records — a title previously held by an American teen who was seven foot one when he was 16.
