Yunnan to reopen schools, fine campuses awaiting you

Yunnan Province plans to gradually reopen its schools from April 20, according to a notice released on Tuesday by the provincial bureau of education.

Knowing the longest ever holiday will soon come to an end, local parents are quite relieved for kids have spoiled much of their leisure. In a few days, parents will be more than pleased to send their children to school.

Teachers are also happy. They will no longer rely on-line teaching, watching learning apps all day.

Higher institutions in Yunnan will resume classes on May 6 and 11, which has long been anticipated by universities students.

Due to the Covid-19, international teachers and students still can't return to Yunnan for the time being. However, online lectures and thesis defense will be available. Graduation can be delayed if needed.

For certain schools, students are required to return in batches to avoid crowds. All students shall wear masks and get information recorded when entering school. Even in school, social distancing is needed to minimize the chance of infection.

Universities in Yunnan have taken preventive measures to make the students safe and sound. Here is a recap of the March campus sights you just missed.

Yunnan University

The university, featuring crab-apple trees in blossom, will reopen on May 6.
