Azaleas bloom in northwest Yunnan, awaiting visitors
In April, azaleas begin to bloom in Shangri-La, northwest Yunnan’s Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. The flowering season will last for months, and the following are some tourist attractions featuring azaleas.
Pudacuo
The Pudacuo National Park in Shangri-La forms a sea of flowers in late spring and summer, with azalea blossom seen in the mountains, woods and meadows.
Yubeng
The Yubeng Village lies at the foot of Meili Snow Mountain. It is a like paradise of azaleas.
Baiba
The alpine azaleas on the Baiba Snow Mountain are rich in varieties, making the peaks spectacular.
Bigu
The Bigu Tianchi/heavenly pond has lucid waters that reflect alpine azaleas nearby.
Qianhushan
The aerial photos of Qianhu Mountain are spectacular, with its azaleas season lasting from late May to early July.
Xiaozhongdian
As an alpine basin area, Xiaozhongdian has a large lush pasture. Every year from late May to mid-June, azaleas and Galsang flowers are seen on the hills.
So, in the coming months, why not have an azalea trip in Shangri-La.
