Track-laying on China-Laos line reaches Xishuangbanna
The track-laying for China-Laos railway reached south Yunnan Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture on April 26, said the China Railway Kunming Group.
Starting in central Yunnan’s Kunming, the Chinese section of the railway goes southward all the way, passing through Yuxi City, Pu’er City and Xishuangbanna Prefecture. It enters the Lao PDR via the Mohan land port.
Since the initiation of track-laying in April 2020, two CPG500 machines have been operated to do a 5km track-laying per day. Track-laying for the Chinese section will be finished by the end of June.
Extending for 1,000 plus kilometers, the international railway is expected to cut the Kunming-Jinghong trip to a little more than three hours and finish the Kunming-Vientiane trip within one day.
