Thaw Tar Aung: SSACEIF to bring consumers more Myanmar surprises
Yunnan province plays a key role in Myanmar-China trade, and it’s hoped that the two sides will increase cooperation and bring more Myanmar surprises to the international consumers via the SSACEIF and CSA Expo trade fairs, said Mr. Thaw Tar Aung, Myanmar consul-general in Kunming, on August 26.

Thaw Tar Aung said this during a consul-live broadcast at the Kunming Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Center, and the live stream was a sideline event of the ongoing online exhibition of the 2021 South and Southeast Asia Commodity Expo and Investment Fair (SSACEIF).
“I’ve been in Kunming for three months, and it’s my first time to share with you Myanmar specialties via the SSACEIF online services,” said Thaw Tar Aung, adding he has been familiar with the annual trade fairs in Kunming.

Before the Covid outbreak, Myanmar exhibitors brought their products to Kunming and expanded the market thanks to the trade fairs. Now, the Myanmar products and services are displayed online, which is also conducive to economic exchanges between Myanmar and China.
Noting Yunnan’s transferring role in bilateral trade, Thaw Tar Aung showed the audience Myanmar scenic beauty and folk customs via a video, and he invited Chinese tourists to his country for vacations when the Covid pandemic is brought under control.
