Int’l Spring Festival gala to be staged in Mekong countries

The 2021 International Spring Festival Gala and Cultural Exchange Activity will to be staged online in the five Mekong countries from February 10 to 26.

Lasting for 17 days, the online gala will present international audience the cultural essentials of the six Lancang-Mekong countries.

Originating in the Qinghai-Tibetan plateau, the Lancang-Mekong River starts its journey across six countries in Yunnan. And boned by the river, the countries share geographic proximity, cultural similarity and profound friendship.

The Spring Festival, or the Chinese new year, is celebrated by Chinese across the globe, and the festivities are also popular among folks in the Mekong basin.

The cultural exchange is sponsored by the Information Office of Yunnan Provincial People’s Government and it is supported by China International Communication Company, MCOT Public Company Limited, Cambodia China Journalist Association and DAP News.
