Rails half-laid on Yunnan section of China-Laos line

As a 500-meter rail was laid at the Ninger Railway Station in south Yunnan province on April 1, half of the rails have been fixed up on the Yunnan section of the China-Laos line, which is expected to open to traffic by the year end.
Extending for more than 1,000 kilometers, the China-Laos railway is a Belt and Road project that will turn Laos from a landlocked country to a land-linked one.
When the international line is put into use, people in Kunming can travel to Xishuangbanna in a little more than three hours, and the Laos capital city of Vientiane can be reached by Kunmingers in the same day.
