International reporters to have media tour in Yunnan

In May, the spring city Kunming is sunny with gentle breeze. Here is the good news! Another group of international reporters are coming to Yunnan.

From May 17 to 21, reporters with the Pakistani, Russian, Lao and Vietnamese media outlets in China, as well as Chinese international communicators with the Hainan International Communication Center and the Mongolian Solongo Magazine, will have a media tour in Yunnan.

The event is organized by Yunnan Gateway, a multi-lingual web portal run by Yunnan Daily Press Group. And the international journalists will visit Kunming City and Yuxi City, looking into new progresses and eco-beauty in Yunnan.

At the Kunming area of China (Yunnan) pilot Free Trade Zone, they will see the quickened clustering of Yunnan's high-end industries, fast growth of the emerging businesses and the steady progress in institutional innovations.

At the Yunnan International Company of China Southern Power Grid, the reporters will look into the firm's international cooperation in power supply, as well as its focus on clean energy.

At the Kunming International Flora Auction and Trading Center (KIFA), they will discover the largest flower market in Asia, seeing how 3,500,000 flowers are traded here in a single day.

At the Kunming Yunnei Power Co., Ltd, they will be told of a diversity of key projects on energy saving, environmental protection, and the smart service for auto engines.

They will also visit the ecological and industrial villages, as well as the villages full of talents, focusing on the new momentum for rural revitalization in this province.

In central Yunnan's Yuxi City, major stops on the media tour will be the Dayingjie town, the Wanyao village, the Mafang village, and the Guanglong Tourist Town.

 

The international reporters have also shared their expectations for the media tour in Yunnan.

PHOMMOUNY PHETSAMONE, a correspondent with the Pathet Lao News Agency, said she felt very honored to be part of this event. "It’s my expectation that it will be a wonderful activity with lots of experiences." 

"I believe I will have a different experience of Yunnan's development through this trip. I'm looking forward to it!" said ASGHAR MUHAMMAD, a reporter with the Associated Press of Pakistan. 

The Thai online celebrity of JARUWAN UDOMSAB hoped that more people will fall in love with Yunnan.

DO VI SA,  a journalist with the Vietnamese Báo Nhân Dân, said he hopes that the farmers can get rich via working on their own land.

"I’m expecting to see the mysterious Yunnan and gained something new by talking with my peers," said Polina Silicheva, a Russian reporter at the Hainan International Communication Center. 

Mu Qier, a journalist at the Solongo Magazine said she hoped to know more about changes in Yunnan and discover its beautiful aspects.
