Listening to music, taking a walk, chatting about family trivia and others make up the daily routine of seniors in Dayingjie town. Their houses are richly decorated and the rooms are tidy and clean.

In 1992, Dayingjie’s income exceeded 100 million yuan. The community also renovated its houses twice in 1985 and 2012, and per capita living space increased from 8 square meters to 80.

“The community looks like a resort, and their happy life is achieved through hard work.” DO VI SA, a journalist with the Vietnamese Báo Nhân Dân, said when he was told about Dayingjie.

ASGHAR MUHAMMAD, a reporter with the Associated Press of Pakistan, commented that the residents live a happy life in a beautiful environment, and this is how rural revitalization in China looks.”

After renovation, the Yuanding residential quarter is well equipped with reasonable layout. “It’s incredible that the quarter was first build up in the early 1990s,” said the reporters.

PHOMMOUNY PHETSAMONE, a correspondent with the Pathet Lao News Agency, said the renovation showed the “Chinese practice” in bettering the people’s well-being.

Seeing the seniors live a happy life in the residential quarter, DO VI SA wore an air of admiration, saying “I also hope to stay here when growing old.”

“The facilities are upgraded, and the services are improved according to the residents’ needs.” Following the visits, ASGHAR MUHAMMAD, a reporter with the Associated Press of Pakistan, spoke highly of the Yuanding quarter.
