COVID-19 vaccines administered in 25 Yunnan border counties, cities

A TV and telephone meeting for the third stage of novel coronavirus vaccine inoculation was held in Kunming on July 3, and the current vaccination work was deployed.

The first stage and the second stage of inoculation in our province have been completed in advance with both quality and quantity guaranteed. On June 5, the province completed the first phase of inoculation of 19.72 million people. On June 27, the province completed the second phase of inoculation of 19.37 million people.

At present, the vaccination rate of suitable population in the province is 68.78%, and 25 border counties (cities) have achieved all the  population coverage expected. The vaccination work in the province has made significant achievements in the initial stage.

Ruili, southwest Yunnan province, bordering Myanmar, reported three new confirmed locally transmitted COVID-19 cases and two locally transmitted asymptomatic carriers on Monday. The five patients, all from Myanmar, were sent to a designated hospital for treatment. With the serious pandemic situation around the border, experts have called for vaccine dose schedules to be completed in full to achieve the best possible preventative effect.
