Ruili's 1st COVID-19 testing lab put into use

The first temporary laboratory for COVID-19 nucleic acid testing was put into use at the Jingcheng hospital in west Yunnan’s city of Ruili on July 9.

Jointly built up by the Guangzhou-based KingMed Diagnostics Group and the National Center for Respiratory Medicine, the lab has allowed Ruili city capable of testing around 30,000 nucleic acid samples a day.

Ruili, which lies near the China-Myanma border in west Yunnan, has been reporting new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases since July 4.

By the end of Monday, there were 155 confirmed cases in hospitals in Yunnan province, including 60 locally transmitted cases. There were also 21 asymptomatic cases, including one locally transmitted.
