Yunnan reports 16 imported confirmed COVID-19 cases
Southwest China's Yunnan Province reported 16 imported confirmed COVID-19 cases and one imported asymptomatic carrier on Wednesday, the provincial health commission said Thursday on July 29.
Fourteen of the imported confirmed cases lived in Myanmar while two others lived in Laos before entering Yunnan through land checkpoints. They tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday while under quarantine. The asymptomatic case was imported from Laos.
Yunnan reported no locally transmitted COVID-19 confirmed cases or asymptomatic carriers on Wednesday, the provincial health commission noted.
By the end of Wednesday, there were 349 confirmed COVID-19 cases still hospitalized in Yunnan, including 66 locally transmitted cases and 283 imported ones. There were also 29 asymptomatic cases, among whom 27 were imported.
