2021 SSACEIF to be staged online, offline in late August

The 2021 South and Southeast Asia Commodity Expo and Investment Fair (SSACEIF) will take place both online and offline from August 25 to 29, according to a recent news release in Kunming, Yunnan province.

With the theme of “new opportunities for new development”, the fair will cover an exhibition area of 64,000 square meters at the Kunming Guanshang International Convention and Exhibition Center, where most of the 3,000 standard booths will be physically set up. The Kunming Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Center will serve as a sub-venue for the event this year.

The online exhibition will be conducted on the digital displaying platform jointly developed by Yunnan Province and JD Group for the Cloud China-South Asia Expo last December. Free market places will be offered to the SSACEIF exhibitors for goods displaying, custom clearance and online business talks.

In the context of the RCEP implementation and the coming operation of the China-Laos railway, the 2021 SSACEIF will highlight cross-border cooperation with the ASEAN nations and countries in the Indian Ocean region.

Embracing the RCEP rules and standards, the fair aims to boost digital economy, processing trade, cross-border e-commerce and agriculture.

A diversity of high-caliber forums will be held during the five-day fair: the Forum on High-Quality Growth in China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the 4th China-Southeast Asia Business Forum, the 3rd China-South Asia Cooperation Forum, the 15th China-South Asia Business Forum, the 8th China-South and Southeast Asia Think-Tank Forum, and others.

To keep off the raging Covid-19 variants, all personages and business people outside China can only participate the fair online, but their product samples can be sent to Kunming and exhibited via an agent.

The diplomats and international business representatives long stayed in China may physically join the fair in Kunming with the green health code, the travel schedule in low risk areas or the nucleic acid testing report with 72 hours.
