Endangered ibex spotted in Tekes county

Herds of ibex were recently seen foraging in the hills of Tekes county, northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. The animal is under second-class state protection.Good at climbing and jumping, ibex inhabit the rocky mountainous areas ranging from 3,500 to 6,000 meters above sea level. With larger scimitar-like horns on their heads, male ibex are heavier than female ones.
