Railway transports 40% containers in Yunnan

More than 40% of freight containers in Yunnan have been transported through railways this year, the rate ranking first among Chinese provinces. 

As of December 15, a total of 22.5 million tons of cargo was transported by trains, a year-on-year increase of 28.4%. Besides, some Yunnan freight trains are part of a multimodal transportation for cross-border trade.

Since the beginning of this year, Yunnan railways have been equipped with cold storage and insulated containers for transporting flowers and so on. More than 4,000 tons of fresh flowers were shipped by railway this year.
