With the opening of China-Laos railway, Xishuangbanna has become one of the hottest destinations for traveling. When it comes to the local food, sticky rice is a representative that can be made into a variety of dishes with differed tastes.
Sticky rice is the main food for Dai people living in south Yunnan’s Xishuangbanna Dai autonomous prefecture. The rice smells pleasant and tastes soft thanks to the mild climate and fertile soil near the tropical rainforest.
