Mass COVID-19 vaccination underway in Yunnan province

A total of 3.9 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine were purchased and rolled out in Yunnan province as of April 5, while 3.233 million people were already successfully vaccinated, according to a news release on local vaccination.

To control the spread of Covid-19 in key areas, Yunnan provincial health commission implemented a targeted vaccination program for 25 key border counties.

Ruili City accelerated full vaccination for local population after receiving the national emergency allocation of additional vaccines. As of April 4, 120,000 doses of vaccines were administered to residents in the border city.

“Yunnan residents can now pre-register for vaccination voluntarily and make the appointments with local medical institution through the WeChat mini program called e-health card for Yunnan residents, ” said Chen Guobing, an emergency doctor at the First People's Hospital of Yunnan Province.
