Along with the upgrade of tourist services, the tourist consumer market of Yunnan province has witnessed strong revival during the just-concluded five-day May Day holiday from May 1 to 5.
“All the guest rooms of our seven hotels were booked up in early April, and our tour packages were popular among tourists from the first-tier Chinese cities of Beijing, Shanghai and others,” said Zhishi Qilin, CEO of the Songzan Culture and Tourist Group.
In the Three Parallel Rivers area in northwest Yunnan, the tourist group joined hands with photographers, and they rolled out brand new tourist packages that involved flower admiring and wildlife exploration.
The Three Bear Educational Tour Company guided ten plus families to central Yunnan’s Anning City, where they tried tea picking and experienced tea processing on May 1, the International Labor Day.
Statistics from the Go-Yunnan app showed that Shangri-La and Lijiang stood out among the Yunnan destinations. The one-day tours in Lijiang old town, the two-day tours to Lugu Lake and the rural life-style tours were all reserved during the holiday.
Kunming’s Park 1903 offered visitors a water show, road-side concerts and others, drawing in tourists with a diversity of ages. A staff member with the scenic area said the parking lot remained full over the past days.
In east Yunnan’s Qujing, the Waitan tourist town was packed at night because of the tasty snacks and entertaining activities. “We received over 30,000 visitors daily, which was quite beyond us,” said Dai Yanchun, deputy chief of the tourist project.
