Villages, towns worth visiting in Yunnan

Seven villages and three towns were listed as national key rural-tourism sites on September 2, said the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the National Development and Reform Commission.

Before that, 36 sites in Yunnan had already been granted the titles of key rural tourism villages or towns at the national level.

What are requirements to become a national key rural tourism village/town?

These villages and towns need to be rich in cultural tourism resources. With well-preserved natural ecology, they should be able to provide tourists with quality catering, cultural experience, and entertainment. The tourist-service facilities also matter.
