Dai Buddhist temples conserved in Jinggu

Three Buddhist temples of Dai ethnic style have been well-protected in Jinggu Dai and Yi Autonomous County, southwest Yunnan’s Pu'er City.

They are the Mengwo Buddha Temple(1721), the Qiannuo Buddhist Temple(1778), and the Mangdaofo Temple(1899).

The Dai Buddhism in Jinggu is Theravada, one of the three Buddhist branches (the other two being Mahayana and Hinayana). Theravada is also popular in Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos.
