Mangoes come into season in Yuanjiang

The mangoes in central Yunnan’s Yuanjiang Hani, Yi and Dai Autonomous County have been in the harvesting season since May 9, inviting in orders from the neighboring provinces of Sichuan, Shaanxi and Guangdong.
Sold to Xi’an City, the first batch of Yuanjiang mangoes was priced at five to six yuan per kilo. As the temperature rose quickly in late May, mangoes are now going to the market in bulk.
Mango trees cover 160,000 mu (around 10,666 hectares) in Yuanjiang, with an yearly output of 120,000 metric tons. Locals have taken mango as an ingredient in their daily meals, creating a diversity of mango dishes.
