“Plant food for animals" launched in Kunming
“I felt so excited to plant food for animals!”“I will come to see you often. Please grow up quickly,” said some children who participated in the “Plant food for animals” charity activity on July 3 in Yunnan Safari/wildlife Park in Kunming, southwest Yunnan’s capital city. There were 14 family signed up for the campaign and had a different planting experience.
The acidity aims to organize these little animal lovers to plant mulberry trees for giraffes and cactus for elephant tortoises. After the zoo staff introduced some interesting knowledge about animals and the procedures, the participants started to work: digging, potholing, placing saplings, filling, punning and watering. With the guidance of the stuff in the zoo, all the procedures were done by children themselves. Later, they had close interactions with giraffe, elephant tortoises, and ostriches.
“I am a little bit tired but I hope these plants will grow quickly so that animals can eat them soon.” said a child called Chang Chengling, who had fun while planting. “This year, China is scheduled to host the 15th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15) in Kunming. I hope my son will love animals and have an awareness of protecting nature via this activity.” said the father of Chang Chengling.
We often hold such activities, especially in June and July every year, when it rains more, the survival rate of seedlings is higher." said the stuff in Yunnan Safari Park. In the future, the park will continue to carry out wildlife education. The summer vacation is coming, I hope more citizens and tourists to visit the park, close to the nature, and appreciate the beauty of Yunnan biodiversity.
