Zhang Kejia, a fashion designer from southwest Yunnan’s Pu’er City, brought his multi-ethnic costume show "Dream Back to Ancient Dian" to the ongoing Shanghai Fashion Week on Oct 17. More than 600 guests from home and abroad came to see this visual feast.

The Dian is an ancient kingdom in the region of modern Yunnan. It flourished during the Han period (206 BCE-220 CE). Yunnan features spectacular natural landscapes, biodiversity and varied ethnic groups, which inspired Zhang to design the ethnic clothes.

According to Zhang, the creation was based on the daily life of the Dai, Wa, Miao and other ethnic groups. Later, his design will involve more regions and more ethnic elements.
