Butterfly outbreak emerges in Jinping

Millions of butterfly larvae have emerged in the butterfly valley in Jinping County, south Yunnan’s Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, forming the biggest outbreak of butterflies in a decade. Visitors came to watch and take pictures.

Jinping stepped up protection measures to improve local ecology in recent years. This outbreak derives from the sound eco-environment and the plant diversity that provided favorable conditions for the reproduction of butterflies.
