Start of spring sees tulips bloom in Daguan Park

Pictures taken by a Yunnan Daily reporter on Feb. 3, the Start of Spring day on traditional Chinese calendar this year, show the blooming tulips in the Kunming-based Daguan(grand view) Park.

On the occasion of the forthcoming Spring Festival, the park is holding its 25th annual flower show to entertain the residents and visitors. A total of 150,000 tulips in 27 varieties are on display this year, together with 3,000 plus peonies in 26 varieties.

Kunming is dubbed as the world’s capital of flowers, with its flowery products sold to consumers worldwide from the Dounan market.
