Late spring: cherries are awaiting visitors
Do you still remember the cherry blossoms in Mt. Laoyin of Gejiu in early spring? At that time, visitors came to the lake-side city in south Yunnan and bathed themselves in the dreamy sea of pink flowers.
Now, late spring has come. The flowers have produced red cherries, which are decorated by green leaves. Because of ripeness of the highly seasonal cherries, local farmers are busy picking, while taste buds of visitors and foodies are stirred by the lovely fruit.
Cherry farmers in other places of Yunnan are also busy with harvest, and visitors are also wont to experience the rural pleasure in cherry harvest. During the late-spring fun, cherry farmers increased their income by planting fruit trees.
While making money in hometown, the farmers also turned barren and wild hills into green areas again. The improved rural ecosystem is bringing about economic benefit.
