Rural lifestyle on fishing festival in Mile

An annual fishing festival was recently launched in Maitang Yi Village of Mile City, southeast Yunnan’s Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture. The villagers, men and women, old and young, pulled the fishing net in high spitits.

These organic fish were raised in fishponds which are financed by villagers. Later the fish would be distributed equally to the villagers. It is not only good for protecting the water source but also for boosting the income of locals.
