Updated:2021-06-02 15:24:43
Bougainvillea bushes are seen blooming in central Yunnan’s Kunming these days, decorating the parks, roads and alleys. Kunming is a city of flowers. Besides bougainvillea, jacaranda, hydrangea and michelia champaca are also visible here in early summer.
As a thorny ornamental bush, bougainvillea is native to South America, and it was transplanted to Europe in the 1830s. In the Chinese cities of Kunming and Xiamen, the flowering plant is usually planted beside fences or walls.
