Chengzi ancient village in Luxi County

The Chengzi ancient village is located in Luxi County, south Yunnan’s Honghe Hani & Yi Prefecture. It was built in the Ming Dynasty and is a typical castle-style village.

The most distinctive feature of the village is that the walls of Yi houses are connected layer upon layer, and the roofs of the bottom families serve as the courtyard of the upper families. The whole village is like a maze with identical households. The ancient village is a rare and well-preserved ethnic village.
