Pu'er sends 50,000 passengers to China-Laos Railway
Since its opening on December 3, Pu'er Station on the China-Laos Railway has sent more than 50,000 passengers in total, with an average of 4,500 passengers per day. On December 11, the station sent 7,332 passengers and received 6,744, setting a record high.
To meet the increasing travel demand of passengers, the Pu'er station initially operated around 20 trains a day, but now the number has reached 48. Around 80 percent of the passengers booked tickets on the Internet.
Covering 5,832 square meters, the station’s waiting area features 2,080 passenger seats, a maternity room and a lounge dedicated to servicemen. The area has a maximum capacity of 2,500 passengers.
With accessibility brought by the railway, Pu'er folks can travel to Xishuangbanna, Yuxi and Kunming in one day, appreciating diverse sights and ethnic cultures.
