The Sanla Waterfall, or a three-tiered cascade in the Zhuang ethnic language, is forever roaring on the Babao river in southeast Yunnan’s Guangnan County.
With a 30m width and 120m drop, the waterfall is dubbed as “a ringing spring with snow-like sight” in the prefectural records.
Nourished by the Babao river, the nearby areas produce organic rice, which has long been favored by the imperial courts in ancient China.
Now, Babao is also name of the town where the river flows through.
