Varying in location, climate and fruit varieties, Yunnan and ASEAN countries are highly complementary in fruit supply. Apples, oranges and grapes produced in Yunnan are favored by ASEAN consumers.

With the China-Laos rail and the Kunming-Bangkok road passing through, the Mohan border gate in south Yunnan’s Xishuangbanna is now much busier thanks to cross-border trade.

Data in 2021 shows Mohan saw 150,000 tons of Yunnan fruits exported to Thailand with a sum of 2 billion yuan, ranking first in some 20 Yunnan border gates.
