Yunnan donates 30-ton supplies to Sri Lanka

On behalf of Yunnan government, Chinese ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong handed over more than 30 tons of supplies to the Ministry of Sri-Lanka on May 5.

Including 13 tons of rice, 14 tons of sugar and 6 tons of peas, the first batch of goods would help Sri Lanka to cope with the current economic difficulties.

Yunnan province is expected to donate more food in urgent need to two Sri Lankan temples and three areas in east Sri Lanka ahead of the Vesak Day, a Buddhist festival in this country.
