Sugath denotes Sinhalese books to Yunnan University
Sugath Rathnayake, a Sri Lankan teacher at School of Foreign Languages, Yunnan University, has recently denoted 1,000 Sinhalese books to the school, showing love to his job as a Sinhalese teacher here.

Covering Sri Lankan history, literature and linguistics, the books will give a strong pull to the development of Sinhala major in the university. Based on the donated books, a Sinhalese reading room will be set up at the school in his honor.
Sugath has been responsible for his teaching and strict with himself, winning a prize in the writing contest organized by China Daily and Bank of China, and he was entitled by Yunnan TV as a linguistic bridge for the Belt and Road friendship.
When hearing the lack of Sinhalese books at the university, Sugath got some of the books at his own expenses and collected the rest by contacting the Sri-Lankan educational authorities and the publisher of Read Plus.
To get the books timely, Sugath and his friends visited branches of Read Plus amid the Covid outbreaks, and the books was collectively handed over to Yunnan University via the Sri-Lankan Ministry of Education.
