Go deep in Lijiang: Senior lady passes on embroidery

Liu Shenfu, who is in her 70s, is the inheritor of Han embroidery in Ninglang Yi autonomous county, northwest Yunnan’s Lijiang city. Her embroidery was recognized as a municipal-level intangible cultural heritage project in Lijiang.

Liu followed her mother and other elders to learn embroidery skills in her teens, and then knitting has become a lifelong hobby. Now, like her mother back then, she handed down her skills to her daughter and new generations.
