Senior Deng lady’s knitting life in Xizang

Benyang, a 72-year-old member of Deng tribe, has been weaving since her girlhood.

Deng knitting works feature red and pink colors, and women have to knit the figures according to their memory for lack of written record.

As an inheritor of knitting skills, Benyang has never refused to teach young women who want to learn.

Living in Chayu county, southwest China’s Xizang/Tibet that borders Myanmar and India, Deng people are unique in language and wearing custom.
