Exclusive buses help Xi'an students return home
More than 70 exclusive buses with special passes drove into Chang'an University in Xi'an, northwest China's Shaanxi province on January 17, allowing some 22,000 students to return home amid the epidemic.
Affected by the Covid outbreaks, Xi’an city has suspended regular flights, and the university contacted with airlines, so that students could return home through charter flights.
For students who live in Shaanxi province, the school arranged chartered coaches or cars for them to get home. Those in Xi'an can return by car or taxi.
Local authorities on education said that starting from January 16, universities in Xi'an should send students home in batches to avoid travel peaks in the winter holiday.
Shaanxi has been inflicted by Covid outbreaks since mid-2021, but the province managed to achieve a zero growth on January 18.
