"If you draw down your dream, I’ll make it come true. It's so sweet!" "This is a fairy realm!" These are comments by those who experienced the Zigong lantern festival.

The ongoing 28th Zigong International Dinosaur Lantern Festival has amazed many. Among the splendid lanterns, the attractive ones are created based on child paintings.

The works were painted by those at primary and secondary schools, children’s homes, and kindergartens.

Located in southern part of Sichuan province, Zigong was known as the city of lights in southwest China.

As early as the Tang and Song dynasties (618-1279), Zigong had the custom of lighting lanterns in the spring festival.

In 2008, Zigong lantern festival was included in the national intangible cultural heritage list.

Now, the festival is more popular than ever. Distinctive group lights show folk traditions, master pieces, and myths.
