Meet banyan tree, cherries in Menglian village
The Damannuo village of Menglian Dai, Lahu and Wa autonomous county, southwest Yunnan’s Pu’er city, shows a different beauty in January. Bordering Myanmar, Menglian is famous for landscapes and ethnic culture.
In the morning, standing under the giant banyan tree in Damannuo, visitors can appreciate the sea of clouds surging. When looked over, the village is hidden in the clouds and mist.
With a height of 48 meters and a 0.4-hectare land coverage, the Damannuo banyan tree is hailed as a largest tree. It requires 68 adults hand in hand to circulate the trunk.
Winter is also a good time to see cherry blossoms in the village. Mountains are dotted with pink and white flowers, forming the eye-catching scene.
