Green-winged cicada spotted in Jingdong

A cicada with green net-patterned wings was recently spotted by botanists at an Ailao Mountain nature reserve in Jingdong Yi autonomous county, southwest Yunnan’s Pu’er city.

Botanists say the cicada called Polyneura cheni mostly live in the dense forests in southwest China’s Sichuan province and Chongqing municipality.

Jingdong is inhabited by diverse cicada species, but it’s the first time that the green- winged cicada has been found in the county.
