International couple's Yunnan romance during Spring Festival
On February 21, Wyatt Gordon, a handsome American young man, posted pictures on his WeChat Moments, showcasing the Swallow Cave in South Yunnan’s Jianshui County.
Gordon took his girl friend Millie back to Yunnan in January, shortly after his home trip to Oregon and New York for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Gordon has worked in Kunming as an English teacher in recent years.
In the past week-long Spring Festival vacation, Gordon and Millie first had a staycation in Kunming and then toured to Jianshui County. Millie comes from England.
When the Spring Festival travel rush was approaching its peak on February 14, Gordon and Millie spent a especially romantic Valentine's Day at a western restaurant in Kunming’s Green Lake Park.
“Dearest Millie, I love you so! You make every new day more exciting than the last. I hope everyone can find someone who makes them feel the way you make me feel.” Gordon said on WeChat.
That day, they went to the Park restaurant for the couples menu. And the American young couple enjoyed the meal a lot. “That's fine by me,” said Gordon.
On February 17, the couple watched a movie in the spring city. “I watched the Grindhouse double-feature last night. Tarantino and Rodriguez are masterful madmen!” Gordon said.
For most of the Spring Festival, they just stayed at home, enjoying the company of each other. Outside, stores are closed and they saw few people in the street.
Occasionally, the couple went outside, cycling in the street. Millie seems to be enjoying the quietness, and Gordon was quite expressed by the Chinese tradition of setting off fireworks during Spring Festival. “They do LOVE fireworks,” said he.
