International car race kicks off in Dongchuan

April 29, the 15th Dongchuan Debris Flow International Off-road Car Race started in Dongchuan District, central Yunnan’s Kunming City, and will last five days. The roar of the engine, the hurrah of audiences, and the race has turned Dongchuan into a Mecca for car sports enthusiasts.

Due to the unique valleys and river ways, the race is known for its distinct car racing track. Held for 15 years since its inception in 2004, it has become a calling card for Dongchuan, attracting many racers and tourists. This year, with a total of 860-kilometer-long tracks, the race attracted a participation of 68 cars and 136 racers.

Besides the thrilling game, Dongchuan is also famous for its red Land that has been hailed as “God’s palette”.
