In recent years, Tengchong City in southwest Yunnan has tried to shift its tourism focus from traditional sight-seeing to modern leisure, vacationing and our-door sports, becoming a destination for healthy lifestyles and adding culture to tourism.

Easy access 

Easy accesses in transport brought in visitors. The Kunming-Tengchong coach trip used to last for 3 days, but now a 40- minute air trip will allow Kunming natives to reach Tengchong, home to the gingko trees, hot springs and overseas Chinese.

So far, Tengchong has opened 22 domestic air routes. And the Tengchong airport is being upgraded to provide international air service to Myanmar, Thailand, India, Bangladesh and others.
