A large number of wild Asian openbill storks have recently become the major attraction at Phoenix Ecological Park in Kaiyuan, Honghe Hani-Yi autonomous prefecture of Yunnan province.

Every morning, more than 200 of the rare birds can be seen hovering over Phoenix Lake, diving into the water to forage for food or resting in the trees alongside the lake, soaking up the sunshine.

The beautiful and harmonious scenery attracts many tourists from home and abroad every day, park administrators say.
